Revenue target looking unreachable? Try the Friday Test

THE WEEKENDER · 18 MIN LISTEN

Welcome to the first Weekender! Each weekend I’ll send you one episode picked to help with something leaders are working through right now. It takes about as long as a coffee or a walk, and you can switch it off any time at the bottom of this email.

When revenue targets start to look out of reach, most CEOs lean harder on the number. More forecast reviews, more questions about the gap, more pressure to find revenue. What comes back is a week of explanations, and nobody does anything differently.

In this episode I walk through the Friday Test, three questions that turn that pressure into one owned action:

  1. What result are we responsible for?
  2. What does the evidence tell us is holding us back?
  3. What will somebody do differently by Friday?

It's for leaders heading into a quarter where the number feels heavy. You'll come away with a way to run Monday's meeting that ends with one intervention, one owner and a Friday review.

Enjoy your weekend,

Phil Hayes-St Clair
CEO Coach

P.S. Hit reply and tell me which constraint you suspect is holding your team back from hitting their number.
